Le Paysan is a well known seed company in France that dates back to 1854. This industrial metal seed display is all original and a VERY rare item from their company.

This seed display was likely to have been manufactured for Le Paysan around 1941 when they merged together with Les Docks de l'Herboristerie to form "Société de Production Grainière". They still retained the name Le Paysan and increased their marketing around this time.
Each row has 5 openings for seed packets. The display currently has vintage seed packets from the early 1980's. They are mostly faded, display comes with them all.
This display can be hung on the wall. It would be ideal in a garden shed, or perhaps as a merchandise display in a retail store. It easily holds standard sized postcards. You can also use it in the kitchen to hold small spice jars or to house small potted succulents.

I discovered all the above information on this informative blog called: Painted Signs and Mosaics, you can read their blog post here on Le Paysan here: http://paintedsignsandmosaics.blogspot.com/2010/06/le-paysan-flower-and-vegetable-seeds.html
